Role Overview 

The Manager, Job Success is responsible for enabling and coordinating cohesive programming, strategy, and tool utilization to drive org-wide above-threshold learner job attainment rates in partnership with the revenue generating employer partnerships team. This role supports Job Success Specialists within pods to meet or exceed ambitious learner job attainment goals (50%+ within 6 months after training).

Reporting to the Managing Director, Learning Innovation the Manager, Job Success will engage in model development and ongoing learning, partnership management, internal coordination, Job Success Specialist talent advising, content generation, and training/support initiatives.

Primary Key Results

Ultimately, this role is responsible for ensuring that job-seeking learners and Job Success Specialists have the tools and resources required to obtain successful job outcomes within the field at threshold. 

Key Metrics Include:

  • % of learners securing jobs above the salary threshold
  • Average wage gain for placed learners 
  • Learner feedback and additional targeted surveys, as well as live feedback webinars

Key Responsibilities

Job success model development, performance tracking, and refinement (50%)

  • Develop rigorous pilot experiments to test and iterate on elements of job attainment support offerings and processes 
  • Develop and refine a suite of activities and strategies (e.g., communications, job sourcing, resource sharing, learner event programming, check-ins, etc.) for Job Success Specialists to meet or exceed their caseload job attainment goals during the 12 weeks of dedicated learner job search support 
  • In partnership with Data and Business Insights (DBI) team, develop dashboards and insight reports to enable data-driven decision making based on job attainment rates and trends 
  • Ensure end-to-end program curriculum is aligned with ultimate job attainment outcome goals in partnership with the Curriculum and Learning Innovation Lead 
  • Develop and share market data and job seeker support resources to increase Job Success Specialist effectiveness; collaboratively develop and maintain a resource bank for job-seeking learners 
  • Manage the expectations, training offerings, and utilization of for PSM/CCs and Job Success Specialists in partnership with Senior Manager, Coaching Excellence

Organization-wide job attainment outcomes enablement (30%)

  • Share best practices and support learning by facilitating Job Success Specialist meetings and developing and leading training sessions
  • Serve as an advisor to Merit’s Talent Acquisition (TA) team, supporting the vetting and engaging of top talent for Job Success Specialist roles and coordinating with pod leads to facilitate effective hiring processes that meet hire quality and timeline metrics 

Job Success Partnership Management (20%):

  • Manage existing partnerships to increase Job Success Specialist success outcomes including Job Step, OneTen, Huntr, Streetwise Partners, among others; sunset or scale partnerships based on efficacy and organizational needs 
  • Seek, establish, and knowledge manage new partnerships with non-revenue generating employers and job aggregators (MOU level) to increase learner access to high quality jobs, secure learner jobs that exceed wage thresholds, and/or decrease learner time-to-place rate


  • This is a fully-remote role for candidates based in the US, with an ideal start date in May 2022.

Role Logistics: 

  • Timing: Full-time position (4-day work week), starting June 2022
  • Location: Remote
  • Compensation: Starting $82,500
